ขอเชิญร่วมงานเปิดตัวรายงานสถานการณ์สิทธิมนุษยชนประจำปี 2555

องค์การแอมเนสตี้ อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล ประเทศไทยขอเรียนเชิญร่วมงานแถลงข่าวเปิดตัวรายงานสถานการณ์สิทธิมนุษยชนประจำปี 2555 ซึ่งจัดขึ้นพร้อมกันทั่วโลกในวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 24 พฤษภาคม 2555

รายงานแอมเนสตี้ อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนลประจำปี 2555 รวบรวมสถานการณ์ด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนตลอดปี 2554 โดยให้ทั้งภาพรวมของห้าภูมิภาคและข้อมูลของแต่ละประเทศจากทั้งหมด 155 ประเทศและดินแดน รายงานชี้ให้เห็นว่าการเรียกร้องสิทธิมนุษยชนยังดำเนินต่อไปอย่างเข้มแข็งในทุกมุมโลก สำหรับประเทศไทยมีหลายประเด็นที่น่าห่วงใยเช่น การขัดแย้งกันด้วยอาวุธภายในประเทศ การลอยนวลพ้นผิด เสรีภาพในการแสดงออก  ผู้ลี้ภัยและผู้อพยพเข้าเมือง และโทษประหารชีวิต

นอกจากงานแถลงข่าวเปิดตัวรายงานประจำปีแล้ว  ยังมีเวทีเสวนาเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์สิทธิมนุษยชนในประเทศไทยโดยนักวิชาการ บุคคลที่มีชื่อเสียงในแวดวงสิทธิมนุษยชนของไทย รวมทั้งผู้ที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากการละเมิดสิทธิอาทิเช่น เหยื่อจากกระบวนการยุติธรรมในคดีเชอรี่แอน ดันแคน และทนายความในคดีอากง SMS  ในหัวข้อ “สถานการณ์โทษประหารชีวิตและเสรีภาพในการแสดงความคิดเห็นในประเทศไทย”

Amnesty International Thailand presents the Amnesty International Report 2012: The State of the World’s Human Rights on 24 May 2012.

The Amnesty International Report 2012 provides a comprehensive global overview of the state of the world's human rights. The report covers 155 countries, documents human rights issues of concern to Amnesty International during 2011 and reflects the organization’s activities during the year to promote human rights and to campaign against specific human rights abuses.

The launch will be followed by a discussion on the death penalty and freedom of expression in Thailand by prominent speakers working to promote and protect human rights (see attached agenda).
